We brewed a French press with those two batches to compare how they taste and smell. The blade grinder’s flavor profile was off and more bitter than that of the burr grinder, which might be due to particle size inconsistency.

We found the burr grinder’s uniform ground allows for consistent output. The same brewing time yielded a much deeper and richer flavor body than what the blade grinder produced.

We also found the burrs, especially conical ceramic burrs, easier to clean than the sharp blade.
